Yeah!
The “Red Creek”
The Rombergpark is a public park with botanic gardens next to the Dortmund Zoo. There you will find an interesting and nice “Red Creek”. This Creek is red due to very iron-rich water, because of the mine “Glückaufsegen”. The red-brown deposits consist of iron ocher (rust), that dissolves the mine water from the deeper soil layers. Fish and insect larvae can not survive in the creek because of the ocher mud clogs their respiratory system.
